Former President Donald Trump has spoken out on the rapidly escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, offering a firm and uncompromising stance that echoes his administration’s past Middle East policies. Speaking during a campaign-style event in Florida, Trump didn’t hold back. “If I were president, this wouldn’t be happening,” he said to a roaring crowd. “Iran respected us. They feared us. Now, they’re emboldened. They’re threatening Israel, they’re threatening the UK, they’re threatening everybody—and Biden is asleep at the wheel.”
Trump described the Iranian regime as “the world’s number one sponsor of terror” and criticized the current U.S. administration for what he called “weak and confused foreign policy.” He stressed that any attack on Israel should be seen as an attack on the Western world and urged strong, unified action in defense of U.S. allies.
“We must stand shoulder to shoulder with Israel,” Trump declared. “Peace through strength works. I proved it. We took out Soleimani, we brought the Abraham Accords, and for four years, there was peace. Now? Chaos.”
The former president also claimed that the current trajectory of conflict could lead to a much larger war, potentially drawing in the United States and NATO if Iran crosses certain lines. “We’re closer to World War III than ever before,” he warned. “And it’s because we have weak leadership.”
